About us

Our farm is located in the quiet hills of the Alta Val d'Agri, surrounded by woods and fruit trees, a few km from the small town of Sarconi.

Nature still punctuates the vital rhythms in a suggestive dimension where time seems to have stopped. It is in this context that our products have been born for more than ten years.

We produce fruit and vegetable jams following the natural cycle of the seasons, combining tradition with innovation, experimenting with new tastes and raw materials typical of the Lucanian area.

The fruit used for the transformation comes from crops grown on the farm itself or harvested from spontaneous crops and from the production of neighboring farms located in the still effective ecosystem of our hills in Basilicata. The transformation of the freshly harvested fruit takes place in small processing cycles with vacuum cooking in a concentration bubble, thus making it possible to create a particularly genuine product that can satisfy a market of modern consumers demanding to enjoy natural typicalities.

In the agricultural world, the generalized introduction of new cultivars has made it difficult to preserve the genetic base and enhance typical local crops. The Sarconi bean, on the other hand, is grown in the agro-climatic environment of origin which makes it more rustic and therefore more resistant and sufficiently resistant to degenerative pathologies of the bean, even without the use of chemically synthesized pesticides and herbicides that are almost always harmful to the natural humus of the soil and the health of the consumer.

Our farm produces varieties of beans (phaseolus vulgaris L.), of ancient Lucanian origin, in Sconi promoted by the European Community to indicate the typicality of these precious legumes, grown in this geographical area, with the IGP brand  (Geographical Indication  Protected).

Ciuoti, tabacchini, greenish, munachedde, tuvagliedde, nasieddi, white rice, these are the names of Sarconi beans grown in their agro-climatic environment of origin which has made them more rustic and therefore more resistant  to degenerative pathologies of the bean even without the use of chemically synthesized pesticides and herbicides, which are always harmful to the natural humus of the soil and to the health of the consumer.

Our beans are  grown and produced as in the past: in the same "red" land irrigated with water from the Maglie river, collecting the ripe and leathery pods from the plant, then beaten and shelled by hand and finally, for complete drying, the seeds are exposed to the sun in the barnyard. Beans rich in protein, fiber, mineral elements and vitamins are a fundamental food for a healthy diet: they cook  "a prim'acqua" and are good, tasty and easy to digest.
