Extra plum jam

The red plum extra jam is the ideal preserve to prepare in the summer, when these fruits are in full season. Many wonder what the difference is between plums and plums but, from a botanical point of view, there is no difference: in general, the fresh fruit is called plum and the dried fruit is plum. There are many varieties of plums and they have different colours: yellow plums, also known as "gold drops", red, purple and green and red plums, also called "verdacchie". We have been using the "angelena" variety for years. The result is a truly delicious jam, which you can spread on a slice of bread for breakfast or a delicious snack, or use it to prepare tarts and desserts.
